הַמַּבְדִּיל בֵּין קדֶשׁ לְחול.
חַטּאתֵינוּ הוא יִמְחול.
זַרְעֵנוּ וְכַסְפֵּנוּ (וּשְׁלוֹמֵינוּ) יַרְבֶּה כַּחול.
וְכַכּוכָבִים בַּלָּיְלָה.

יום פָּנָה כְּצֵל תּמֶר.
אֶקְרָא לָאֵל עָלַי גּומֵר. אָמַר שׁומֵר.
אָתָא בקֶר וְגַם לָיְלָה.

צִדְקָתְךָ כְּהַר תָּבור.
עֲל חטאי עָבר תַּעֲבור.
כְּיום אֶתְמול כִּי יַעֲבור.
וְאַשְׁמוּרָה בַּלָּיְלָה.

חָלְפָה עונַת מִנְחָתִי.
מִי יִתֵּן מְנוּחָתִי.

קְרָאתִיךָ יָהּ הושִׁיעֵנִי.

מִדַּלּוּת תְּבַצְּעֵנִי.
מִיּום וְעַד לָיְלָה.

טַהֵר טִנּוּף מַעֲשַׂי.
פֶּן יאמְרוּ מַכְעִיסַי.
אַיֵּה נא אֱלוהַּ עושָׂי.
נותֵן זְמִירות בַּלָּיְלָה.

נַחְנוּ בְיָדְךָ כַּחומֶר.
סְלַח נָא עַל קַל וָחומֶר.
יום לְיום יַבִּיעַ אומֶר.
וְלַיְלָה לְלָיְלָה.

הַמַּבְדִּיל בֵּין קדֶשׁ לְחול.
חַטּאתֵינוּ יִמְחול.
זַרְעֵנוּ וְכַסְפֵּנוּ יַרְבֶּה כַּחול.

אֵל פּודֶה מִכָּל צָר.
קְרָאנוּךָ מִן הַמֵּצָר.
יָדְךָ לא תִקְצָר.
לא יום וְלא לָיְלָה.

חַטּאתֵינוּ יִמְחול.

מִיכָאֵל שַׂר יִשְׂרָאֵל.
אֵלִיָּהוּ וְגַבְרִיאֵל.
יבאוּ נָא עִם הַגּואֵל.
קוּמוּ ורונו בַּחֲצִי הַלָּיְלָה.

הַמַּבְדִּיל בֵּין קדֶשׁ לְחול.

Translation:

The One who distingui​shes between sacred and profane, may He forgive our iniquitie​s. Our children and our fortunes (some substitut​e: our peace) shall multiply like the sand, and the stars of the night.

May he nullify our sins.

The day has passed like the shadow of a Palm tree.
I call out to God, over me complete
the watchman says "Morning comes and also night".

Your righteous​ness is like Mt Tabor
May you pass over my failings
Like yesterday​ which is gone
And like a Watch in the night

The time of the afternoon​ prayer has past
Who will give me rest?
I have wearied with my sighing;
I shall pray every night

Listen to my voice, cast it not aside
Open up to me the lofty gate
For my head is drenched with dew

Information:

While this piyyut (poem) is traditionally sung Motzei Shabbat (Saturday Night) following havdalah, some are of the opinion that it was originally written for the conclusion of Yom Kippur (when Havdalah is also recited), due to the references to forgiveness (verses 1, 3) and the waning of the day (verse 2). It exists in both Ashkenazi and Sephardi traditions and is also an acrostic poem carrying the name of the author "Yitzhak Ha-katan" or "Isaac the Younger" ; several scholars identify him with Isaac b. Judah ibn Ghayyat of Spain (1030-1089).
